During the summer of 2018, Stonyhurst Language School received its 4 yearly inspection by British Council.

The Language School received an outstanding report, with areas of strength noted in the following: Safeguarding under 18’s; Care of Students; Accommodation; Premises and Facilities; Strategic and Quality Management; Staff Management; Student Administration; Publicity; Academic Management and Leisure Opportunities.

This achievement has resulted in EL Gazette awarding Stonyhurst Language School with a ‘Centre of Excellence’ status.

British Council run in partnership with English UK to provide a scheme that gives assurance of quality to international students who are taking or planning to take an English language course in the UK.

Stonyhurst Language School voluntarily applied to join the British Council scheme to give our parents an assurance that our course follows strict guidelines and meets standards set by British Council in all matters relating to the summer school.  These areas include: Teaching and Learning; Safeguarding Under 18’s; Welfare and Student Services; Premises and Resources and Management of the Course.

British Council will re-inspect Stonyhurst Language School on a four-yearly basis.  In addition to this British Council may announce spot-inspections.
