Choosing the right summer school for your children is imperative. Finding one with such impressive and magnificent surroundings makes that choice somewhat easier!
Stonyhurst Language School is set in the heart of the Ribble Valley. For those who are not familiar with this area, this is some of Britain’s most beautiful countryside found in the geographical centre of the UK. On top of that, Queen Elizabeth II once famously said she would ‘love to retire’ here if she was ever allowed to hang up her crown!
So, why is our location so special?
The Ribble Valley is known for its outstanding natural beauty, history and heritage. From scenic countryside, to exceptional food and historical sites, one will surely never get tired of exploring this place. There are various award-winning restaurants, cafes and tearooms, as well as historical landmarks such as Clitheroe Castle, Whalley Abbey and Pendle Hill. For those who prefer the outdoors, the Ribble Valley caters for that too. One can easily spend the day walking around and taking in the beauty of nature.
This area never disappoints our students who, during their summer course, benefit from a range of afternoon activities that take in these surroundings. Our varied excursions also enable the students to travel a little further afield, with the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site being one of the favoured for scenery and adventure.
